Researchers  at UNSW Sydney have received a JEC Asia Innovation Award for their research, testing and prototyping of a “shape adaptive marine propeller” that promises more efficient and longer-lasting propellers.

This research which started as a collaboration between UNSW and Defence Science and Technology (DST) in 2010 has progressed into a full-scale manufactured component that was designed, fabricated and tested at UNSW using the only Automated Fibre Placement facility in the southern hemisphere.

UNSW is proud to support our partners with the journey from development and design to concept validation and launch. Congratulations to UNSW Engineering Professor Gangadhara Prusty and his team.
