Both partners, prospective and current, and our wider UNSW community have caught a glimpse of the world-class expertise demonstrated by UNSW researchers throughout our 2019 Knowledge Exchange Research Showcases event series. A wide range of capabilities attracted an excited audience from industry, government and other organisations looking to explore opportunities, build connections and facilitate partnerships in order to turn research into transformational solutions.
Our four showcases focused on the key themes of Trust in business and society, Bioengineering, Defence and Clean Energy. Each event saw a panel of experts lead a robust discussion and Q&A according to theme, further complemented by an exhibition of expertise held by some of UNSW’s finest academics. The showcase also provided some insight into the vast range of expertise, investment ready technology and capability, also outlined in the research capability portfolios launched at each event.
Our showcases are designed to provide an opportunity to build connections. “We need to centralise experience and knowledge and foster collaboration, from across the country and across sectors if we are to achieve the best outcomes for the communities we serve. And that is a central pillar of our institution’s mission. We look forward to strengthening existing partnerships and forming new ones in pursuit of this mission.” Professor Nick Fisk said further highlighting the mission of UNSW.
Connecting UNSW experts to external partners is at the core of Knowledge Exchange’s mission. The showcase series united academia, industry and government in order to create mutually beneficial partnerships to drive economic, social and cultural progress. The support provided by Knowledge Exchange is integral for academics and external partners, providing clarity in the areas of contract research, intellectual property, commercialisation, patenting and licencing. As well as overseeing the transfer of information with business acumen, giving ideas the opportunity to flourish and potential to be realised.
