With two growing businesses, entrepreneur and UNSW Business School student Frances Atkins is defying the reality that start-up funding goes mostly to men. Frances shares her empowering journey taking a turn to startups after a successful career in the corporate world as a Finance lawyer. Together with her sister, Naomi Vowels, Frances co-founded GoodGivs – a startup that helps people celebrate without waste by combining group gifting with charitable crowdfunding; and givvable – a startup that provides a platform for businesses to find and purchase from sustainable and social suppliers.
The New Wave Founders Program aided Frances to accelerate her passion and is designed to help women start, launch and grow their businesses.
